Quality-of-Life Planning

Crooked Creek Northwest Community Development Corporation is located on the northwest outskirts of Indianapolis. We work to enhance housing, spur economic development, and create beautiful corridors for one of the country’s most diverse and distinct neighborhoods.

There are more than 105,000 living on Indy’s northwest - many having lived here all their live. Newcomers and immigrants in search of good schools and reasonable priced find urban housing with a suburban feel. Established residents have a history of community involvement and many multigenerational households have raised young activists and organizers.

Community organizing sparks grassroot efforts that introduce change in deserving neighborhoods. While there are concentrations of commerce many neighborhoods along the main corridors experience blight and lack of new developments.

This year, we began hosting monthly resident meeting to identify top community needs and assets and to form framework for our quality of life planning sessions - set to begin, in person, this fall.

We are anxious to take the next steps in making the community more livable and to improve the quality of life for all by focusing on five areas:

1. Housing

2. Commercial Redevelopment

3. Neighborhood Revitalization

4. Infrastructure Improvement

5. Community Engagement

To capture the input and energy of this neighborhood, the CDC invites residents to participate in regular quality of life planning meetings and discussions. Our efforts to make this area a better place to live, work, and play will be pursued through the vision painted by the people who live here.

Once the framework for the plan has been completed, residents can join action teams and begin pursuing agreed upon goals set-forth in the planning sessions.

If you are a northwest resident interested in joining the quality of life planning process,
